A week in Sóller in June, a day out to Deià, and the usual arrival in Palma. The water during the day, the old town in the evening. With friends, sometimes on my own, always within reach of the historic tram between the harbour and the valley. Here are the seven places I would recommend after this week.
Es Passeig, lunch by the harbour
The promenade in Port de Sóller. A glass of rosé, aubergine tartare, sushi rice with wagyu, tuna tataki. The waiter comes from Salzburg.
Nautilus, a sundowner above the bay
High above the bay, looking out over Port de Sóller. I was there at the hour when the lights come on. One good drink is enough.
El Petit Bistro, an evening in the old town
Small, on the market square in Sóller. Maria out front knows our friends from Bremen. Tuna tartare with wasabi sorbet. And the original Sóller Bomb.
Ca’n Llimona, an evening in the old town
A few steps further on, Carrer Victòria 12. The chef Claudia, Argentinian with an Italian touch. Summer pasta with rocket and Sóller lemons. Tiramisu. Rosé by Toni Gelabert. Personal, not an Italian place for tourists.
Agapanto, Sunday lunch by the harbour
Back to Port de Sóller. Reopened at the end of May 2026, a palette of beige and olive green, parasols with a pattern on the inside. For anyone who likes it quiet and wants the view.
Two more, for anyone going further
Es Pi, Deià
Fifteen minutes by car from Sóller. Lunch high above the sea. A trip worth making on any clear day.
Portixol, Palma
Forty minutes to the capital. An old fishing quarter, a hotel and restaurant by the water. Our usual first stop whenever we are on the island.
Mallorca in June
More from this week is in the Mallorca diary.
One thing that is never missing on Mallorca: a good bag for the day. My summer bags in the shop are made for exactly that.
